Elbrus Ski Monsters Expedition Race. We did it!

Elbrus Ski Monsters Expedition Race is the history beautiful, successful. The first Russian mountain international race, where the highest point of Europe is the summit Elbrus 5642 meters, was the highest level on the way to finish of forty two mile-long mountain marathon.

Correctly the following characteristics of the race have been voiced at the briefing: 4768 meters height along, taking upgrade, 42 km 980 meters is the general distance of the race. There is no other such race on skimountaineering in the world, where one of the most difficult criteria is mount on five thousand meters. A few years ago, Evgeny Kolchanov (the director of the festival) has voiced the offer of a big race within the Red Fox Elbrus Race festival, but we (panel of judges) had no experience of big starts yet and then the offer remained unclaimed. But we having gained experience, healthy ambition, having got support from founding fathers of Red Fox Elbrus Race, namely Alexander Glushkovsky and Vlada Moroz, have returned to the project in 2017, not just a big race, but "Monster race". Year of preparation and a race have shown that the right choice has been made. We had a grandiose project, which can be popular by any fan of mountains, owning climbing skills and skis (of course, we won't dissemble, without preparation not to turn out), but the relief of the route and control times on checkpoints will give the chance to everyone (when ready) to pass the part of a route.

Consequently, we, chief referee of the festival - Alexander Ovchinnikov and the director of the festival - Evgeny Kolchanov (on the right), on behalf of team of the Red Fox Elbrus Race festival, we invite you to attempt the strength and together with us to continue the history of the most mountain race Elbrus Ski Monsters Expedition Race in 2019, but now it would be nice to share unforgettable impressions of "pioneers" and together with you to enjoy beautiful views, presented by the MOUNTAIN and the excellent team of photographers: Andrey Chepakin, Oleg Chegodayev, Nikita Skorokhodov and Nikita Popov.
