Ski-alpinists are preparing for tomorrow's start.


There was a registration and briefing of participants Elbrus Ski Monsters Expedition Race today at Azau Meadow.

The race starts tomorrow at 5 am from Azau Meadow.

18 teams from Andorra, Austria, Bulgaria, Russia will attend the Elbrus Ski Monsters Expedition Race. The online broadcast of the competition will be available here: https://gps.myrace.info:3000/


Yesterday several referees with different levels of training tested the descent from the top. Among them were experienced ski mountaineers, participants of many ski-climbing competitions, and having an average level. As a result, the safest route was chosen and labeled.


Many athletes also have already slid down from Elbrus on skis. Johanna Erhart and Veronika Mayerhofer from Austria came to participate in the Elbrus Ski Monsters Expedition Race after they took third place in the ski-climbing race Patrouille des Glaciers a week ago. They descended from Elbrus two days ago and said that it wasn’t difficult for them, though they felt a load on their legs.

We’ll know very soon how difficult and hard is the distance of Elbrus Ski Monsters Expedition Race.
