Today one of the most popular competitions of the Red Fox Elbrus Race, took place - the Vertical Kilometer® - Mt Elbrus (2450-3450 m). It was an exciting and hard battle!

Bright sun changed yesterday’s rain and clouds. It was hot at the starting line. Probably this weather became the reason that athletes didn’t set any new records. Even last year’s record holder Vitaly Chernov (Red Fox Russia team), winner of the Vertical Kilometer 2015, crossed the finish line in third place.

The Catalonian team took first and third places in the ski-mountaineering race, and today Cardona Oriol (Catalonia) became the fastest in the Vertical Kilometer® - Mt Elbrus, 2450-3450 m. Apparently the Catalonian's have something to prove. Swiss athlete Pascal Egli came in second.
