RULES OF THE

INTERNATIONAL VICTORY СUP AMONG THE MILITARY PERSONNEL

Individual and team competitions.

1. Goals and objectives
- determination of the strongest sportsmen and teams among the military personnel;
- increase of sport skills.

2. Date and place
Place – Russia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Terskol village.
The competitions will take place from the 2nd to 8th May 2016 within the Festival Red Fox Elbrus Race.

3. Organizers
- Main control of competition organization is realized by the Festival's Organization committee. Immediate guidance is entrusted to the Festival's Director Evgeny Kolchanov, e-mail: ekolchanov@mail.ru
- Festival's Organization committee is formed by the Red Fox Company together with the representatives of the security ministries participating in the competitions
- Chief competition judge: Alexander Ovchinnikov
- Safety official: Alexander Poluektov

Immediate carrying out of the competitions is entrusted to the main panel of judges.

4. Requirements for participants and admittance to competitions
Participation in Victory Cup is allowed for national teams of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, the Internal Troops of the Ministry for Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation and other security ministries. Team line-up: 4 men, 2 women + 1 trainer + 1 representative. Quantity of teams is unlimited. The teams of one ministry can have 1 trainer and 1 representative. Teams without full line-up will not be admitted to the competitions. Registration is for teams of two participants which staff cannot be changed during all competitions.

Competitions are conducted under the Russian “Rules for skyrunning and ski-mountaineering competitions”.

5. Equipment
According to the rules the following equipment are mandatory for the competitions:
skis (metal edging not less 80% ski length), skis length for men - not less 160 cm, skis length for women - not less 150 cm); boots with Vibram outersole; skin; bindings for ski-tour; ski poles (pair); emergency film; backpack; sun glasses or goggles; helmet; 4 clothing layers (including one storm layer) for upper body; 3 clothing layers (including one storm layer) for underpinning; certificated harness; daisy chain; carabiners 3 pcs., crampons; avalanche transceiver; snow shovel; avalanche probe.

2nd May
11:00-19:00 - Registration of participants of the Victory Cup. Vershina hotel.
19:00 - Briefing of the ski-mountaineering team race.

3th May
08:00 – Start of the ski-mountaineering team race. As intended.
14:00 - Awarding ceremony of the winners of ski-mountaineering team race. Vershina hotel.

4th May
19:00 – Briefing of the Vertical Kilometer® - Mt Elbrus, 2450-3450 m. Vershina hotel.

5th May
09:00 - Start of the Vertical Kilometer® - Mt Elbrus, 2450-3450 m. Azau glade.
14:00 – Awarding ceremony of the winners of the Vertical Kilometer® - Mt Elbrus. Vershina hotel.

6th May
19:00 – Briefing of the Vertical SkyMarathon® - Mt Elbrus, 2350-5642 m. Participants hand over their equipment for going up to the "Barrels". Vershina hotel.

7th May
06:30 - Start of the Vertical SkyMarathon® - Mt Elbrus, 2350-5642 m. Azau glade.

8th May
16:00 – Awarding ceremony of the winners of the Vertical SkyMarathon® - Mt Elbrus and Victory Cup. Vershina hotel.

6. Determination of the winners
Participant’s results in individual and team offsets are determined by the sum of route passing times and sum of penalties on the stages of distances. Route passing time of one team is estimated according to the result of last finished team’s member.
Overall offset is determined by the best team ranking gained of team of 2 persons according to the sum of points scored in all races. Overall team ranking is calculated according to the following system: sum of ranking points scored of each participant (team’s member) in each competition. Team gained the greatest number of ranking points will be recognized as a winner. Quantity of points scored by one competitor depending on the taken place is determined by the following table.

Main panel of judges has to present the result cards to team’s representatives up to 8th May 2016.

7. Awards
The winners and prizemen are awarded by medals and diploma of different grades. In addition it can be valuable prizes from sponsors and other agencies.

8. Financing terms
Cost accounts of expenses for preparation and organization of the competitions are at expense of the local budget and extrabudgetary resources of other participating organizations. Expenses of assignment (travel, meals, accommodation) and insurance of participants of the competitions are in charge of sending organizations.

9. Applications
Preliminary applications should be sent by E-mail: elbrus@redfox.ru. It's obligatory to indicate last name, age and discipline of the competitions and qualification.

Vertical Kilometer® - Mt Elbrus, 2450-3450 m. Entrance fee - 1000 roubles.
Vertical SkyMarathon® - Mt Elbrus, 2350-5642 m. Entrance fee - 1000 roubles.
Preliminary applications are accepted until 25th April 2016 with obligatory confirmation. Application with classification card (if it’s available) should be presented to the credentials committee.

Main panel of judges reserves the right to change competitions schedule!!!
