Today, onOn May 1, almost 400 participants from 14 countries of around the world gathered together on Mt. Elbrus (5642 m) to celebrate ana fantastic event – international festival of winter extreme sports - the Red Fox Elbrus Race VII!

Very nice sunny weather welcomed everybody who decided to set new personal sporting record or even just to spend vacations in the Elbrus region.

The Oofficial opening ceremony started fromwas kicked off on May 1st with a welcoming speech of from Alexander Glushkovsky, general director of the Red Fox company, followed by and representatives of government of the Kabardino-Balkar Republic and the Russian Mountaineering Federation. Sunny skies greated participants on opening day. Whether they were attending to set a new record in their sports, a personal record, or simply to vacation, sunny weather greated everyone on the first day of competitions on Mt. Elbrus.

On the first day a ski mountaineering race was held. This opening day race was for skiers who wanted to experience the challenge of a skimo race without being concerned about race results on an international level. A second ski mountaineering race was held on May 2nd. This race was part of the ISMF European Series.

First winners of today’s competition have already got their awards! It was a ski-mountaineering vertical race which is a part of the ISMF European series. Congratulations to athletes!
